Domain Sales Domain Sale – Successful YouTuber realizes Social Media is not “His”

in Domain Sales Domain Name sale details here. I just sold the domain name for $10,166 to Alejandro who is a successful YouTube influencer. He has created a YouTube Channel named HipHopRD.

HipHopRD is explained in Spanish on his site. I had the explanation translated to English here.

News, Music, Videos, Events & All About Rap & Hip Hop | HipHop RD
HipHop RD gives you the best downloads of free music in Spanish of high quality. is where you can find powerful interviews and news about the urban movement in Latin America.

Alejandro has 12,600 subscribers, 890+ videos, and over 2 million total views at his YouTube Channel. He also has an Instagram with 3200 followers. When I asked him why he wanted he told me this. He realizes that Social Media is not “His” Business and he wants to own his own Brand. This is probably the most important statement written in all of these words I have written here. Why did he buy from me? Once again – “He realizes that Social Media is not “His” Business and he wants to own his own Brand”

Right now Alejandro is just forwarding to his HipHopRD YouTube page but he does have plans to build out He is planning to create a media website which he will create contents by interviewing people of different fields such as music, sports, enterpreneurs and so on. Alejandro will be the main host and he will also have a partner hosting. He also wants the newly branded show to be in both Spanish and English.

Alejandro is someone who is building the internet everyday. These are the people like you and I who realize we have to build our own brands/websites. We have to control our own destiny and just use Social Media to help us build traffic/followers/clients to our own Businesses. Alejandro, I truly wish you the best. Watch out!

Previous to writing this story, I just Googled this…
How much money is in the gaming industry
“This is more than double the revenue of the international film industry in 2013. In 2015 it was estimated at US $91.5 billion. The largest nations by estimated video game revenues in 2016 are China ($24.4B), the United States ($23.5B) and Japan ($12.4B).”
Video game industry – Wikipedia

The domain name Video.Games just sold for a huge amount of money. $183,000 to be exact. I reported that HERE. Here is a story how “Domain Names Matter” to my good friend Steven Glick.

Steven is a life long gamer and a recent domainer. He has owned a few domains off and on for close to 20 years for various projects but never truly got into domaining until a couple years ago. He saw the value in EMDs (exact match domains) and started to take domaining a little more serious right around the time the new gTLDs were starting to come out which was just a couple years ago.

Being a gamer is his first and foremost passion. He has played many video games and has visited thousands of video game related sites. He knows what he likes when it comes to sites promoting games/accessories, selling games/accessories and helping the gaming community in general.

He knows what he wants in a video gaming site and believes he can do it 100% better than anything that is out there right now.

How do you break into an almost trillion dollar market and try capturing a fraction of that money? Well, you go buy the absolute best domain name out there which is Uhhh, ok that may not be possible unless you have millions of dollars or are the son of the owner of CBS. is owned by CBS Interactive Inc. and is an active site rated at 4,131 globally and rated even higher here in the US. It is rated at site 1,077 in the USA at the time of this posting.

So, what now? Ok, Steve needed exact match domains in order to think about making his dream a reality and breaking into this video gaming industry so he bought into the new gTLDs. Last year around May, GoDaddy was promoting one of the new gTLDs it was selling – .game. As soon as he saw that as an extension that’s when he said, Ok I am gonna get into this extension and make a play for one of the best I can get. He put in a bid of $6k, and actually won that domain! Now he thinks he has his foot in the door of the video gaming industry. This even came with an email from Mr. Frank Schilling himself, saying something like, Congrats, you have a great one there. Hang onto it.
This is the moment when Steve gets very serious about domains now.

But wait, besides the which is now untouchable because CBS owns it, he needs to make one more move to be taken seriously. There is a new gTLD extension on the block which is .games. The one and only domain he now believes he needs is to cement his being into this industry is

Rightside Registry owns Steve approaches Rightside. Ok, I want this domain at any expense even if I have to sell my house. What are your terms? $180k. Well, I don’t have it all right now. Will you finance? Sure we will finance but it’s gonna cost you just a little juice over a couple years. Ok that seems painless. What about those crazy renewal fees I have been reading about? Don’t worry about it. We got you. Here is a contract that you will only have to pay $xx per year forever. Ok, deal!

Rightside has invited Steven to the E3 Expo in Los Angeles. “E3 is the world’s premier event for computer, video and mobile games and related products. At E3, the video game industry’s top talent pack the Los Angeles Convention Center, connecting tens of thousands of the best, brightest, and most innovative in the interactive entertainment industry. For three exciting days, leading-edge companies, groundbreaking new technologies and never-before-seen products will be showcased. E3 connects you with both new and existing partners, industry executives, and the biggest fans of video games providing unprecedented exposure to emerging markets. E3 is where it all starts.”

Me personally, I have never been a huge new gTLD fan and have only put a few dollars (x,xxx) into one new gTLD domain but I can undeniably see that there are some making money in these extensions. Mostly the registrars. I do hope for Stevens sake that he makes all the right moves with these couple category killer new Gs and ends up living his dreams with whatever he builds out in an industry he loves.

I have a plug here that I really wanted to give him. Like I said, he has invested in some new gTLD domains and has given me a list to share with you, if anyone out there is interested. I really want to see him pay this domain off as soon as possible so he can concentrate on building out one Bad Ass gaming site!

Here are a few of his domains for sale with no pricing, just make offers. He said he has been too busy to price out his domains and I understand that. You can just post a reply here in the blog or you can email him directly @ if you’d like.

Steven my friend, If you build it, they will come! 🙂

Message to the new gTLD domainer big boys, yes I am talking about the new gTLD Registries. Not too shabby. Definitely not .com money, but some of these sales are starting to look like some of the dot tv sales of recent and past. Just please get all of your pricing/renewals in order or you will alienate all of your current users and any potential new customers. All of those recent discussions about renewal rates increasing and nobody knowing if they will be paying $30 next year or $3000 next year for their renewals could be the quick downfall to your recent successes. Congrats to Rightside on an impressive list of new G sales.

Casino.Online – Highest Non .com new gTLD domain name sale ever just released.

Radix just released that they sold thru Sedo for a record high new gTLD salesprice of $201,250. This was verified and published in Ron Jackson’s last week.

The weird thing about this sale is the order of the wording. “Casino online” doesn’t sound natural to me at all. I can see it the other way around, “Online Casino”. I think that order would make much more sense. So with that being said, will sell for more one day???

The new gTLD fans will be very happy about this sale but I bet you any amount of money, all of the new gTLD Registries are much more happy about this sale!
